Female dogs that are in season are not permitted to stay with us until they are no longer in season.
If any female dog comes into season while staying with us, arrangements need to be made to have the dog picked up. If the dog has to stay at the kennel, the daily rate will be $75 for each day the dog is in season.
Any dog or cat found to be infected with parasites, (fleas, ticks, lice, mites, or worms)
will be treated immediately at the owner's expense. We will contact you to inform you of the problem, depending on circumstances the animal may need to be picked up, to protect other patron's pets.
Hygiene Bath: All guests (dogs) staying three days or more will receive a hygiene bath to ensure that no matter what, the dog(s) go home as good as they came in. A $15 charge will be added to your bill. (Exceptions will be handled on a case-by-case basis) *** If your dog needs significant work or has issues such as matting, extremely dirty, skunked, flea or tick infestations, or is overgrown, you will be charged according to our grooming rates***
Food: Your pet's food must be placed in a plastic container with a lid. You must bring your own dogs food including detailed feeding instructions (serving size & times per day). We typically feed once a day as do most boarding facilities. If your dog runs out of food, your dog will be fed Purina Dog Chow. Please be Advised: Switching your pet(s) food abruptly can stress their stomach causing diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration. Once the dog is returned home, they encounter another abrupt diet change which can lead to more diarrhea & increased stress on their digestive tract. If your dog does have diarrhea cooked chicken (remove bones) mixed with cooked rice fed twice a day will help calm their stomach. Canned pumpkin (local grocery store) or anti-diarrhea medicine from your local pet store can also help. The last thing we want is for your dog to have any tummy troubles. That is why we strongly recommend you bring an extra serving or 2 of your dog's food.
Medications: We do not charge to medicate your dog or cat. Specific instructions must be provided to ensure your pet is medicated properly. Make sure you let us know which medications if any, your dog maybe taking. Depending on what the medication is for, we may not be able to accept your dog for boarding. We do not administer injections.
Injuries & Special Care: If your dog or cat needs any special care we need to know when you make your appointment so we can put them in the appropriate space. This is including but not limited to; elderly, lame, dogs with dog kennel aggression, etc. We do not recommend boarding your dog or cat until they are fully recovered from any surgical procedure.
Bedding: Please do not bring your pet's beds or bedding. We will provide a blanket for your pet. If they show signs of destroying their bedding, we will take it out and not give it back. We cannot take the risk of your pet swallowing them.
Toys: You are allowed one toy per pet. It must be made out of rubber or plastic. No toys made out of cloth, fur, or has stuffing are not allowed.
*Any dog that is human aggressive will not be allowed to board at Ridge Kennels LLC as we cannot put our staff, or others in any type of danger.
